Alejandro Martinez - Mexico Competition Coffee

From Veracruz with Love

🍫 Milk Chocolate // Caramel // Digestive Biscuit // Vanilla 🍯

This one’s special. Not just because it’s sweet, smooth, and comforting like a chocolate-drenched caramel pudding—but because Fran visited Alejandro’s farm in January 2025 as part of the International Roasting Competition 1st prize. And let us tell you… the trip was incredible.

Nestled in the lush hills of Coatepec, Veracruz, Alejandro and his brother Juan José Martínez Anaya are the fifth generation to steward their land—but they’re not just keeping tradition alive. They’re building a future. Through agroforestry and biodiversity-driven farming, they’re planting native shade trees, using intercropping methods, and producing resilient varietals that thrive despite the environmental challenges faced across Mexico.

This fully washed H16 varietal is a prime example—grown at 1,200m, it delivers bold sweetness, depth, and a classic Latin-American comfort vibe… but with a unique Veracruz soul.

Brewing Suggestions:

A go-to for fans of smooth and syrupy—this one’s a dream in espresso and sings in a cafetière. Add milk and you’re floating in a warm treacle sponge.

Because let’s face it—finding your way to Yellow Bear should feel more like a warm hug than a digital scavenger hunt. These SEO tags make that happen.
